- 4.0 pieces whole wheat pita breads
- 1.0 cup cream cheese, softened
- 0.25 cup honey
- 1.0 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 0.5 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 0.25 teaspoon allspice
- 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1.0 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 0.5 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 2.0 tablespoons olive oil
- 0.0 teaspoon sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, honey, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined and creamy.
- Place the pita breads on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Use a brush to lightly coat each pita with olive oil on both sides.
- Evenly spread the sweet cream cheese mixture over each pita, making sure the tops are fully covered.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and crumbled feta evenly over the cream cheese spread on each pita.
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the pita bread is golden and crisp.
- Once out of the oven, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top and garnish with fresh mint leaves. Allow them to cool for a couple of minutes before slicing into wedges.
- Serve warm as a delightful appetizer or indulgent snack.
