Description

These Red Bean Puff Pastries are a delightful treat with creamy filling and flaky pastry, perfect for dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet Puff pastry
  • 8 oz Cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Red bean paste
  • 1 large Egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  2. Defrost the puff pastry sheets as per the package instructions, which usually takes about 30 minutes.
  3. Whisk together the cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl until smooth and creamy.
  4. Divide one puff pastry sheet into 9 equal squares. On each square, smear about 1 tablespoon of the cream cheese filling and add a tablespoon of red bean paste on top.
  5. Brush the edges of each pastry square with the whisked egg.
  6. Cover each filled pastry with another piece of puff pastry, pressing the edges together to seal.
  7. Cut slits in the top of each pastry for steam to escape during baking.
  8. Egg wash the tops of the pastries to achieve a golden finish.
  9. Bake them for 20-22 minutes, or until they turn a gorgeous golden brown.
  10. Cool the pastries for 5 minutes before serving.
