- 2 kg Baby Back Ribs
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 2 teaspoons garlic salt
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 0.5 teaspoon cumin
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cups barbecue sauce
- 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped or minced
- 0.5 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Begin by inspecting the back of the baby back ribs for any papery skin. Remove it if found.
- Line two baking trays with tin foil, creating a non-stick surface. Place the ribs comfortably on top.
- In a mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic salt, onion powder, black pepper, and cumin.
- Generously sprinkle the rub all over the ribs and drizzle with olive oil. Massage the rub into the meat.
- Cover the ribs with plastic wrap and set aside in the fridge for at least a few hours or overnight.
- Preheat your oven to 180°C / 350°F.
- Cover the ribs with cooking foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2 hours.
- While the ribs are baking, mix together barbecue sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, and Worcestershire sauce.
- After 2 hours, remove the ribs from the oven and increase the temperature to 240°C / 460°F.
- Uncover the ribs and smear them with the prepared sauce using a basting brush.
- Place the ribs back in the oven for an additional 10 minutes.
- Switch your oven setting to Grill (Broil) for 2-3 minutes until slightly blackened.
- Once grilled, remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for 10 minutes.
- Slice the ribs into individual pieces and serve warm.
