- 1/4 cup Softened Butter
- 9 tablespoons Sifted Confectioners’ Sugar (adjust for desired consistency)
- 1 tablespoon Maple Syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon Maple Extract (use less for subtler taste)
Instructions
- Cream 1/2 cup unsalted butter until smooth and fluffy. Mix in 1/4 cup maple syrup and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract.
- Sift in 1 2/3 cups cake flour and 1/4 teaspoon salt, mixing until the dough forms a cohesive ball.
- Roll the dough between parchment until 1/4 inch thick and chill in the freezer for 10-15 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 300°F. Cut dough into maple leaf shapes and arrange on parchment-lined sheets.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes until golden brown. Cool on sheets before transferring to a wire rack.
- Beat together 1/4 cup softened butter and 9 tablespoons confectioners’ sugar until fluffy. Mix in 1 tablespoon maple syrup and 1/4 teaspoon maple extract.
- Once cookies are cooled, sandwich filling between cookies and enjoy!
