Description

This Crispy Keto Onion Rings recipe offers a low-carb, crunchy alternative to traditional onion rings, using almond and coconut flours to keep it keto-friendly while delivering a deliciously crispy texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large sweet onions
  • 3 eggs
  • ¾ cup almond flour
  • ¾ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 3 Tbsp coconut flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Light olive oil (enough for frying)

Instructions

  1. Slice your onions into rings of your desired thickness and carefully separate the rings.
  2. In a bowl, beat the eggs thoroughly until smooth to prepare your egg wash.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine almond flour, coconut flour, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, dried parsley, and paprika, mixing well.
  4. Dip each onion ring first into the beaten eggs, then coat with the flour and cheese mixture. Repeat this process to create a thick coating.
  5. Heat light olive oil in a pan to approximately 285°F (140°C). Test the oil with one onion ring before frying the rest.
  6. Fry the coated onion rings for about 1 minute on each side until golden and crispy.
  7. Remove the fried onion rings from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  8. Serve immediately while hot for the best crunch and flavor.

Notes

  • Ensure uniform ring sizes for even cooking.
  • Maintain oil temperature to avoid soggy rings.
