Irresistibly Delicious Cheesy Thumbprint Appetizers with Hot Pepper Jelly
Ingredients

- 1 cup (2 sticks / 226 g) unsalted butter, softened
- 8 oz (226 g) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) hot pepper jelly (red or green)
Instructions
- Beat softened butter until smooth. Add shredded cheddar and mix until combined. Gradually add flour, salt, and cayenne pepper to form a soft dough.
- Shape dough into a disk, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place 2 inches apart.
- Use your thumb or the back of a teaspoon to press a shallow well in the center of each ball.
- Bake 12–15 minutes until edges are golden. Cool slightly on a rack.
- Spoon a small amount of hot pepper jelly into each indentation. Serve warm or at room temperature.

- These appetizers are perfect for parties and gatherings.
- You can use either red or green hot pepper jelly.
